HONOLULU, Hi – Russell Henley holds a two-stoke lead at the halfway mark of the Sony Open. The 23-year-old rookie shot back to back rounds of 63(-7) in his first two rounds on the PGA Tour. Henley’s 36-hole score of 126(-14) bested the previous 36-hole tournament scoring record by two-strokes. Henley hit every green in regulation Friday, while playing alongside the first round leader Scott Langley. Also a rookie, Langley opened the tournament with rounds of 62(-8) and 66(-4). Langley and Henley will play together again during the third round. Scott Piercy is will be the third member of the final pairing on Saturday. Piercy, who finished T13 last week in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions is tied for 2nd place with Langley at 12-under-par. Piercy played his first 36-holes bogey-free, shooting back-to-back rounds of 64(-6). Henley,Langley, and Piercy will tee off at 1:00 local time.
