Junior Invitational at Sage Valley
The 2013 Junior Invitational will be played April 26-28, and marks the 3rd year of the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club presented by Electrolux. The goal of Sage Valley and tournament founder Mr. Weldon Wyatt was to create a tournament to highlight the best 54 junior golfers in the world and the tournament has been extremely successful in accomplishing that goal. With Nike as the tournament equipment sponsor and support from a host of others like Coca-Cola, the Augusta Chronicle and Norfolk Southern, Chair Emeritus Paul S. Simon and a committed group of volunteers have worked hard to put together an event that is entering its second straight year as Golfweek’s #1 junior tournament in the world. For the past two years The Junior Invitational has hosted 36 domestic and 18 international players from countries like Denmark, Norway, Austria, Poland, Iceland, Argentina, Chile, Australia, England, China, S. Korea, Taiwan, S. Africa and France. We’re adding Bolivia, India and Ireland to this distinguished list. Beau Hossler participated in 2012 and was set to be a part of this year’s event until deciding to start his collegiate career early in January 2013. Every member of the 2012 Junior Ryder Cup team has played for us. 2011′s Patrick Rodgers was the youngest member of the 2011 Walker Cup Team and Justin Thomas was subsequently named both the National Freshman of the Year and the National Player of the Year following his impressive start at the University of Alabama.
